Photo eyes not aligned or beam blocked

look for one light on the side of each photo eye.

Try to align eyes as best as possible, if door starts closing then goes back up look for leaves and cobwebs hanging off the bottom of door. Look for broken wires and it may time for a service call.

If the door won’t open look up at the spring or springs to see if there is a separation in the coils on one of the springs. If there is, then a broken spring is the problem. If the spring is not broke, and door is down release the operator by pulling down on rope at opener rail just above door. Then see if you can lift door by hand, if so door is good and opener is the problem.
